No fewer than 138,015 vulnerable households in Nasarawa State are set to benefit from the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Cash Transfer programme.
Mrs. Rhoda Agbawu, the Nasarawa State Programme Manager, announced this during a three-day orientation training for desk officers from the state’s 13 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Lafia. Beneficiaries will receive cash transfer of N25,000 each for three months.

This programme, a scaled-up version of the National Social Safety Nets Project, has expanded its reach from six to all 13 LGAs, increasing the number of beneficiaries from 48,624 to 138,015.
The programme was temporarily halted to allow beneficiaries to open bank accounts and link their Bank Verification Numbers with their National Identity Numbers. The process has been digitized to ensure accountability and transparency.
The training aimed to educate desk officers on new programme changes for effective implementation. Commissioner Margaret Elayo praised the team’s efforts and urged them to maintain their dedication.
Desk officers Mohammed Dabo and Ruth Dachi emphasized the importance of monitoring to ensure funds are used effectively.
