Panic In Bauchi Community As Gunmen Abduct Woman

Panic and fear overtook the minds of the residents of Boi, a community in Bogoro local government area of Bauchi State after unknown gunmen stormed the community at night and they abducted One Khadija Ardo and her baby.

Khadijah, 40, and her baby were abducted when her husband, Malam Audu Ardo, was away with the flocks of his cows at a nearby village.

Malam Audu Ardo, Khadijah’s husband, said he was not at home when his wife was kidnapped.

“I went to the nearby village to see my cows there,” he said.

Mr Joel Tuta, a resident of Boi said that since the incident, they have been in living in constant fear of the unknown.

“We are living in fear since this incident took place. The gunmen came by mid-night and took away Khadija and her baby,” he said.

A statement by the personnel of the Joint Task Force in Boi revealed that Hajiya Khadijah was kidnapped with her baby on Monday night.

The statement added that the security agents are doing everything possible to rescue the woman and her baby from her abductors in good health.

The statement read: “At about 1200 hours, villagers reported to our office the kidnapped case involving one Kadijah Audu Ardo by heavily armed gunmen.”

“We quickly mobilised our personnel and moved to the community.

As I’m talking to you we are doing everything possible to secure the life of the woman and her baby.”

As to the time of filing this report, there is no statement on whether the abductors requested ransom or on the reason the woman was abducted.
