Stephen Esumobi, the Director of Enforcement, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) in Plateau State has disclosed that the council has arrested two unauthorized drug vendors and sealed 115 pharmacies and 319 patent medicine shops in the State.
He said PCN national enforcement team visited not less than 208 pharmacies and 433 patent medicine shops in the state.
The Director, at a press conference held on Tuesday in Jos, explained that the shops were sealed for violating different operational offenses.

Mr. Esumobi stressed that the offenses include operating without PCN registration, failure to renew premises license, as well as dispensing ethical products without a pharmacist’s supervision.
He added that other offenses are poor storage and sanitary conditions, carrying out activities beyond the scope of their license among others were some of the offenses they committed,
The Director noted that two vendors were arrested in connection to the breaking of PCN seals.
