PDP has lost moral authority; Sule Lamido replies Atiku’s Tweet

A former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido says his party has lost moral creeds to claim that it has established laid down order, discipline and constitutionality required to support genuine democratic practice in Nigeria.

Sule Lamido who was a two times Jigawa State Governor and presidential aspirant under the platform of the PDP stated this in response to Atiku’s tweet on his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.

“As party members, we only need to reflect on our individual roles to discover how hallow this claim is.”

He added that self-appraisal was the only viable tool that can reveal the best character among members of the party.

Atiku Abubakar had earlier tweeted on his verified Twitter handle that the PDP has everything needed to strengthen democratic institutions in the country.

“I pray that the order, discipline and constitutionality, which we, as a party have exemplified, should guide institutions of our democracy,” Atiku tweeted.

He said that political parties are critical institutions that ought to be strengthened through laws and order.

“Without law and order in a party, a party cannot provide law and order to Nigeria,” Atiku added.

Atiku’s tweet is coming at a time when the ruling Al Progressives Congress, the APC grapples to settle leadership tussles that engrave its nerves at the national level.

Recall that different courts gave orders at different times restraining Adams Oshiomhole from posing as National Chairman of the party.

Political spectators say political parties in Nigeria lack internal democracy and respect for established authorities.
