Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, Bauchi State Charman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has aversed that the party has only one aspirant for the governorship ticket of the state.
WikkiTimes gathered that Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, a former Secretary to the Bauchi State Government is the only aspirant running for Bauchi PDP governorship slot.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Mr Akuyam said that the party will just affirm the governorship candidacy of Barrister Kashim for the party in the 2023 general elections.
“We have only one aspirant. So, we are going to have just affirmation. My model is simple. this party has come a long way. we were in the opposition before; we lost the election in 2015. We are patient enough to remain resilient to pursue our goal. t will be very foolish of us to allow the victory to sleep away again,” he said.
The Chairman said that the federal might APC enjoyed at the centre will not deter the PDP in Bauchi from putting in a decent fight to cement its control in the state.
Mr Akuyam said the recent national and state assembly primaries of the party has been a success story. “We are fair to all aspirants and that is why there are no complaints from anybody.” primaries in the state. Free and fair to all aspirants.
