Photographer Shot Dead in Minna

Zacchaeus Salawadeen, a 33-year-old photographer based in the outskirts of the Tudun-Fulani area of Minna, Niger State, was stabbed to death by unknown hoodlums.

In a statement made available to newsmen, Wasiu Abiodun, the police spokesman in the state, confirmed the incident on Wednesday, adding that exhibits were recovered from the scene.

Abiodun said Salawadeen, who lives at Tudun-Fulani, Minna, was attacked in the house by an unknown person(s), who stabbed and robbed him of valuables.

He was rushed to the IBB Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

“The police operatives at Bosso Division visited the scene and recovered some exhibits as preliminary investigation has commenced into the unfortunate incident,” Abiodun said.

“The killers trailed Salawadeen to his house, forced their way in and stabbed him severally as three of his children watched the gory sight”, he said.

The killers then left with Salawadeen’s laptop and camera.

However, residents said the incident happened on Tuesday when the photographer returned after the day’s work.

The suspected killers on arrival locked other occupants of the house in one place before breaking into Salawadeen’s flat to kill him.
