PICTORIAL: Flood Takes Over Niger Deputy Gov’s Village

A torrential flood has taken over Ketso village in Mokwa local council, the hometown of the Niger State Deputy Governor, Ahmed Mohammed Ketso. 

WikkiTimes gathered that flooding in the Ketso has become a frequent occurrence as hundreds of the villagers have been rendered homeless amid property loss.

Pictures of the incident surfaced on social media this morning as the villagers were seen jostling through the flood-ridden communities.

Mokwa, according to research is situated at the bank of River Niger, and as such the community is vulnerable to flooding whenever it rains. Virtually all the 25 villages under the local government count losses during the rainy season.
