The Plateau state government has inaugurated the distribution of relief materials to the indigents and most vulnerable people in the state.
Professor Sonni Tyoden, the deputy Governor who is also the chairman, palliative committee while flagging the exercise on Saturday, said only registered orphanages are being considered in the first phase of the distribution of the palliatives in the state.
He also called on management of the various orphanages in the state not to divert the relief materials given to the orphanage homes for personal use.
Tyoden who said more than 42 registered orphanage homes have received the relief materials in the first phase, prayed that the items donated will address the needs of the orphans and the most vulnerable.
The committee is to liaise with local government chairmen and ward councilors for easy distributions of the palliatives to the grassroots.
