The Plateau State Government has revoked licenses of all private nursery, primary and secondary schools operating in the state.
In a press conference in held in Jos, the state capital, the Commissioner of Education, Elizabeth Wampum said the decision followed discovery of over five thousand private schools illegally operating in the state.

She said 90% of the private schools in Plateau State are not complying with the state government’s directives while 85% of the 495 licensed schools are not performing up to expectations.
She said: “This is to notify the public that the licenses of all private nursery, primary and secondary schools operating in the state have been revoked and they are to reapply for licenses.”
