Plateau lockdown: Dan London assists community with potable water as authorities fail

A Jos based politician and philanthropist in Plateau state, Gwani Muhammad Dan London has supplied water to some communities within Jos North, aimed at cushioning the effect of the lockdown as authorities look away.

The head of Dan London water supply, Abu Maleek MJ, said “the idea for the water supply to Anguwan Rogo and other communities in Jos is to help reduce the hardship being experienced by the residents of the benefitting communities in accessing clean and potable water.

With no running pipe borne water and faulty/dry boreholes, basically this gesture it is to reduce difficulties in accessing clean water.”

The gesture is coming at a time when residents of Jos North continue to blame authorities of total neglect as they find it difficult to access water as a result of the one week lock down by Plateau state government.

A resident of Anguwan Rogo who spoke to WikkiTimes on condition of anonymity said ‘if not for intervention of Muhammad Dan London, many households would not have water to perform ablution not to talk of cooking and other things.

WikkiTimes reports that many communities in jos metropolis are housed in rocky areas, making it hard for individuals to afford personal water systems.

Many residents resort to buying the essential commodity from water hawkers who push water on carts.
