The police in Gombe state have arrested three persons suspected to be drug peddlers supplying drugs to Kalare thugs in Akko local government area of the state.
The suspects, Mubarak Usman, Abubakar Sulaiman and Fahad Salihu specialized in supplying hard drugs thugs known as Kalare boys. They were arrested around Hayin Kwarin Misau Quarter in Akko.
The Police spokesman in Gombe, Buhari Abdullahi, in a statement said the suspects were arrested following a raid in their enclave by operatives from Operation Hattara Gombe.
He said drugs such as tramadol capsules, lara tablets, valium 5, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and other exhibits were recovered from them.
In a related development, the Gombe Police Command has arrested two Kalare thugs for allegedly attacking innocent citizens with intent to loot properties around Nasarawo Rice mill area, in the state capital.
According to him, the suspects Abdulrazak Jibrin, Idris Musa all aged 18 years and residents of Barunde area of Gombe metropolis, were arrested after they started threatening innocent people with attack in an attempt to carter away their properties.
“During interrogation the suspects confessed to having organised themselves to the scene with intent to attack lawful passersby”, he added.
