Police Arraign Five Bauchi Men Over Tearing Bala Mohammed’s Billboards


The police in Bauchi have arraigned five persons for allegedly tearing the campaign billboards of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of the state.  

The suspects were accused of tearing the governor’s billboards situated at Emir’s Drive Roundabout within the Bauchi metropolis. 

The affected billboards are pegged at N11,500,000.

On 22nd April this year, the police arrested Sani Balarabe, 35, Musa Abdullahi, 30, Mustapha Dan Hajiya, 30,  Ibrahim Baba, 29 and Kabiru Rare, 27. All the suspects are inhabitants of Bauchi city centre. 

However, WikkiTimes gathered that three out of the five suspects escaped from police detention. the two other suspects still in the police net are arraigned before a Bauchi Magistrate Court number two Judge Abdulfatah Baba Shakuni.

The Judge granted the accused person bail after depositing the sum of N500,000 at the registry of the court. 

The case was adjourned to 31st May 2022 for a continuation of the hearing.
