Police Arrest 10 ‘Hoodlums’ Including Female Accomplice In Niger

Operatives of Niger State Police Command have arrested no fewer than 10 suspected hoodlums including a female accomplice terrorising the capital city of Minna.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday.

Abiodun said the police tactical team on Sunday raided criminal hideouts in Minna metropolis and apprehended some thugs.

The suspects are: Fatima Ibrahim, 15, Abdulrahman Yahuza (a.k.a Mailace) 17, Alhassan Yau (a.k.a Abba) 15, Ahmed Yunusa,  16, Yakubu Sani,15

Other suspects include Abdulganiu Bello, 17, Kasimu Mohammed, 23, Adamu Yahuza, 16, Yusuf Zubairu, 19, El-Amin Bakery and Yusuf Bala, 18.

According to the PPRO, the female suspect Fatima, was arrested at Angwan-Daji where she was found asleep under “intoxication.” She was arrested following a complaint of a strange person found within the premises.

The PPRO said: “During interrogation, she confessed that she was kept in the premises by Abdulrahman (Mailace) who later left to Tayi area after receiving a call of a fight between some miscreants of Bosso and Tayi area at Tayi junction.

“She confessed further that Abdulrahman picked scissors and a knife while he went to join the fight and on return, he stated that they succeeded in the fight having stabbed one of the miscreants.

“While Yusuf Bala was arrested at Kwangila for stabbing one Muhammed ‘m’ of Kwangila to death during the miscreants fight on 04/06/2022 at Keteren-Gwari area of Minna and he has been on the run to Mokwa since after the unfortunate incident, but recently returned to Minna.

“Exhibits recovered from the suspects include three (3) cutlasses, two (2) knives and one (1) scissors. All suspects will be arraigned in court for prosecution as soon as investigation is concluded”.
