Police Arrest 2 Gay Suspects, 3 Others for Mixing Okra with Wood Dust in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested 2 men for alleged homosexual acts in Kanbariki, Kumo local government area of the state. 

Spokesperson of the Command ASP Buhari Abdullahi disclosed this to newsmen while parading the suspects on Tuesday, adding that they were alleged to have been involved in the criminal act for a while now.

According to Abdullahi, the police received a distress call on 11th July that led to the arrest of the suspects. The suspects had been taken to the hospital for medical attention and thereafter to the Police custody where they confessed to the crime. 

He added that one of the culprits also confessed to have reached a monetary bargain with his partner for N15,000 but the partner refused to pay the money after committing the act. 

The Police further noted that the accused will be charged to the court after completing the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, the Police in Gombe also arrested 3 people for allegedly mixing dried okra powder with wood dust.

ASP Abdullahi said suspects had been selling the adulterated okra for public consumption. 

He identified the suspects as Saleh Sahabi 39, Ɗahiru Yahaya 40 and Hassan Abdullahi also 40. They were arrested in Daɗinkowa, Yamaltu Deba Local Government area of the state. 

He said “The dried okra powder with other substances were recovered as exhibits and a sample was sent to Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) for examination and analysis.”

He added that the culprits had confessed to the crime and will be charged to court in due time.
