The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly shooting his friend with a local gun in the Jabi community of Shelleng local council of the state.
Wawe Nokomari, the suspect, was arrested on Tuesday, November 7, after reportedly shooting his friend Ham Musa.
The Police spokesman in the state, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said on Tuesday that the accused was under the influence of a local beer, burkutu when he opened fire on his friend.
They were said to be working on a rice farm following a misunderstanding ensued between them.
It was further learned that the suspect had borrowed the local weapon used to shoot his friend from a vigilante.
“The victim is currently receiving medical treatment and is said to be in a stable condition,” the spokesman said
He further added that the CP had ordered the arrest of the vigilante who lent his gun to the suspect.
