The police in Jigawa state have arrested two suspects for alleged sodomy and rape of minors in Hadejia and Malam madori local government areas respectively.
Police identified the first suspect as Musa Musa who was arrested in Yankoli quarters in Hadejia allegedly sodomising a 12-year-old boy while the second suspect, Kamisu Ibrahim was arrested in Garin Malam Sanda in Malam Madori for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl.
Shiisu Lawan Adam, the Jigawa State Police Command spokesman who confirmed the arrest in a statement made available to WikkiTimes said it was the father of the victim that reported the case involving the abuse of his son.
According to him, one Ishaq Muhammed reported that he discovered a blood stain on his 8-year-old son who upon inquiry revealed that the suspect used to take him to his room and sexually abused him.
“On 12/10/2024 at about 0800hrs, one Ishaq Muhammad ‘m’ age 50yrs of Yankoli quarters Hadejia LGA, reported at Hadejia ‘A’ Division that, on 11/10/2024 at about 1630hrs, he discovered blood stain on the trouser of his 8 years old son of same address, when questioned, he revealed that, one Musa Musa ‘m’ age 20yrs of same address, on several occasions use to take him to his room located at Yankoli quarters, and had anal intercourse with him”, said Adam.
He further said the victim was taken to Sexual Assault Referral Center (SARC) for medical examination while the suspect upon arrest confessed to the commission of the offence.
On the rape case, Adam said the suspect, Kamisu Ibrahim, 18-year-old residence of Garin Malam Sanda confessed to have sexually assaulted the 3-year-old girl.
“On 15/10/2024 at about 1015hrs, one Suleiman Bashari ‘m’ age 30yrs of Garin Malam Sanda village M/Madori LGA, reported at M/Madori Division that, on 14/10/2024 at about 2010hrs, one Kamisu Ibrahim ‘m’ age 18yrs of same address, had carnal knowledge of his niece one …’ f’ age 3yrs of the same address”, he added.
The police said the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
