Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Bauchi have killed about six suspected armed bandits in Ningi local government area of Bauchi State.
Similarly, the police also recovered two AK-47 rifles, two AK-49 rifles, a dan-gun and other fabricated guns.
Commissioner of Police, Bauchi Command, Auwal Mohammed disclosed this in a press conference on Friday in Bauchi.
He said the bandits were neutralized in a gun duel with police operatives from Ningi Division in collaboration with quasi security personnel.
The commissioner said one locally made single barrel gun 14 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and three magazines were recovered from the bandits
Mohammed explained that the ammunitions were recovered through operations in Alkaleri and and Toro local government areas.
He further explained that two AK-47 rifles were recovered from one Abdullahi Ibrahim, 42.
The commissioner said the suspect conceded that he purchased the rifles from his uncle at the cost of N250,000 to protect their cattle.
He said about 343 rounds of of 7.62mm live ammunitions with one magazine were also recovered from Ibrahim.
Mohammed said Ibrahim would be charged to court after the police completed all necessary investigations.
