Police Interrogates Abuja Man Over Decomposing Girlfriend’s Body

Police at Durumi Divisional Headquarters have arrested one Aminu for questioning over the death of his girlfriend, Blessing Karami whose lifeless decomposing body was found days after her family declared her missing.

Reports indicate that Blessing closed from her duty station in Garki, Abuja for home but disappeared without a trace. On Wednesday, her family, having earlier declared her missing, announced her death following the discovery of her decaying body in the bush in the Karmo community of the Federal Capital Territory.

Mr Aminu is being interrogated over the death of Blessing, a student of the National Open University of Nigeria.

Genesis Moses Karami, elder brother of the late Blessing, said “We saw her decomposed body here at Karmo, it is not something we can move, we have to arrange with the environmental people to come and help us pack.”

She said we have to bury it here, adding that it seems she died for days due to the nature of the decomposition.

Josephine Adeh, FCT Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the incident in an interview with Daily Trust.

“The body of Blessing Karami Moses, a 26-year-old woman who had been missing since September 11, 2023, was tragically discovered in a wooded area in Karimo. Her disappearance was reported to the authorities on September 14, 2023,” she said.
