Police Nab 4 for Supplying Uniforms, Financing banditry in Katsina

The police in Katsina state have arrested four suspects for allegedly supplying military uniforms to bandits terrorizing Danmusa LGA of the state.

One of the suspects, a chief financier, Aminu Hassan of Dundubus village of Daja LGA, was arrested with two pairs of military uniform concealed in a polythene bag on transit to the bandits’ camp.

Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, Katsina State Police Command’s spokesman in a statement said, Hassan, a suspected terrorism financier, has been aiding bandits unleashing terror in Danmusa and its environs.

According to him, upon his arrest by police operatives on a routine patrol along Yantumaki and Kankara highway, Hassan named his three accomplices who hailed from Kaduna state.

“In the course of the investigation, three (3) more suspects, namely, (1) Lawal M Ahmad, age 29, (2) Isma’il Dalhatu, m, age 24, all of Basawa quarters, all of Sabon Gari, Zaria LGA, Kaduna, (3) Shafi’u Adamu, m, age 28 of Danjaba village, Soba LGA, Kaduna State, were also arrested in connection with the case”, said Aliyu.

The spokesman further said 14 pairs of military uniforms and one (1) police uniform were recovered from the suspects, which are believed to be intended for delivery to the armed bandits for their criminal operations.

“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence and would soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of the offence”, he added.
