The Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested a suspected drug supplier to bandits, three alleged child traffickers, and a man in possession of illegal firearms.
The command also announced the recovery of 60 rustled cows and 25 sheep in separate operations across the state.
In a statement on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, said operatives arrested one Franklin Ozo, 30, at Danmagaji, Zaria, on September 29, 2025. Ozo was allegedly found with 500 sachets of Exol tablets valued at millions of naira. Investigations revealed the drugs were bound for Kidandan and Giwa, where they were reportedly meant for bandits.
In a separate operation the same day, detectives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested one Alhaji Sani, popularly known as “Dan Gude,” in Doka Ilu, Giwa LGA, for unlawful possession of firearms. Items recovered from him include a fabricated AK-47 rifle, two live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and an AK-47 magazine.
Also, on September 22, police operatives arrested a suspected child trafficker, Khadija Ibrahim, around the Narayi area of Kaduna. She was reportedly found with a child later identified as Abdulmumin. Further investigation led to the arrest of two other suspects, Daniel Samuel and Danjuma Makoshi, and the rescue of another victim, a five-year-old boy identified as Ibrahim Bilyaminu from Gusau, Zamfara State.
According to Hassan, the children are safe and under police protection while investigations continue to trace the trafficking network.
The statement added that on September 30, police also facilitated the recovery of 60 cows and 25 sheep through the assistance of a repentant bandit, following a report by one Bello Lawal. The livestock were handed back to their rightful owner.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, reiterated the command’s resolve to clamp down on drug trafficking, illegal arms proliferation, and child trafficking. He warned criminals in the state to desist or face decisive action.
