The Nasarawa State Police Command has released 10 minors who were detained during the nationwide protests over hardship.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, confirmed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Lafia.
The police had initially arrested 50 protesters on August 1 in four different Local Government Areas for allegedly attacking officers and engaging in looting.
The arrests included 25 in Lafia, 16 in Karu, six in Keffi, and three in Mararaba Udege of Nasarawa Local Government Area.
Nansel noted that the 10 minors among those arrested have been released to their parents and guardians. The remaining 40 protesters have been charged to court.
He also urged the public to continue with their lawful activities without fear of intimidation.
