The Kano State Police Command has announced the successful rescue of a 4-year-old boy, Muhammad Nasir Jamilu, who was kidnapped from Sharada Quarters in Kano.
Police spokesperson in Kano, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in a statement made available to journalists in Kano, said the boy was abducted and taken to Gwarzo Town, where a ransom demand of N10 million was made.
According to Kiyawa, after negotiations, a sum of N300,000 was paid, pending the balance. However, the police intervened and arrested three suspects: Hisbullahi Salisu, 30, Hassan Ali Rabiu, 28, and Hassan Aliyu, 22, all from Kano.
The principal suspect, Hisbullahi Salisu, who is a cousin of the victim, confessed to conspiring with the other suspects to kidnap the boy. The victim was rescued unhurt and reunited with his parents.
The Kano State Police Command commended the Surveillance Team for their professionalism and swift response, which led to the successful rescue of the victim.
