Police, Woman Killed as Boko Haram Attack Borno Police Station

The dreaded Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly on Sunday attacked Jakana Police Station in Konduga local government area of Borno State. 

Reports said a police driver and a woman have been killed in the morning attack.

WikkiTimes gathered that the terrorists also destroyed two patrol vehicles belonging to the police and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and took away arms and ammunition.

Jakana is approximately 45 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, along the Damaturu-Maiduguri expressway.

The terrorists arrived around 1:00 a.m. and engaged in a gun battle with the police for nearly three hours. The insurgents eventually overpowered the security personnel and fled around 3:00 am.

Chairman of Konduga local government area council, Abbas Ali Abari, confirmed the incident. 

The Borno State Police Command is yet to give an update on the incident.
