Popular Kano Musician Rarara to Appear in Court Over Debt

A Kano-based musician Dauda Kahutu Rarara, has been ordered to appear in court over his refusal to pay N10,300,000 to one Muhammad Ma’aji.

The ace singer had allegedly collected phones worth the said amount and distributed to people.

Rarara was expected to appear before Kano Higher Shari’ah Court sitting at Rijiyar Zaki and presided over by Justice Halhalatul Khuza’i Zakariyya. But he refused.

The prosecution counsel, Barrister I. Imam, told the court that the accused person did not honour the court summon, therefore should order for his arrest, according to Daily Trust.

However, Imam told the court that he is not sure if the writ of summon has reached the accused person.

The court asked the messenger, Isma’il Zuhudu, if he had delivered the writ of summon and he assured that he had pasted it on the gate of Rarara’s house as ordered by the court because attempts to look for him and give him hand-to-hand failed.

The Judge, Zakariyya, said being the first time he is absent, the court would waive the issue and order the resummon of the singer in person or paste it again on his house at Zoo Road and publish it on the media and social media platforms.
