President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the family of the late publisher of Leadership Newspaper, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, on the death of their matriarch, Mrs. Eunice Ndanusa Isaiah.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, represented the President on a condolence visit to the family in Abuja on Thursday. He was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Dr. Adaora Ifeoma Anyauwutaku.
In a press statement issued on Thursday by the Special Assistant To The President on Media, Office of the Minister of Information and Culture Segun Adeyemi, Lai Mohammed said “On behalf of Mr. President and the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I have come here to condole with the family.
“There is no way we can come here to condole with this family without remembering our late brother, Sam Nda-Isaiah, and I think it’s worthy of note that Mr. President deemed it fit to send this delegation to condole with you on the passing onto glory of the matriarch of the family.
“We can only offer you prayers and condolence, believing that the good work of mama and the good work of our brother will continue to propel the family to greatness and greater harmony,” he said.
Alhaji Mohammed said it was painful that Mr. Nda-Isaiah’s death preceded that of his mother, but noted that the patriotism he exuded in his lifetime was a reflection of the character trait of his mother.
He said because of the special relationship between the President and the Nda-Isaiah family, the late publisher was keenly passionate about the success of the Buhari Administration.
The Minister expressed confidence that neither the death of Mr. Nda-Isaiah nor that of his mother would sever the ties between President Buhari and the Nda-Isaiah Family.
Responding on behalf of the family, an in-law to the deceased, Dr. Tunde Owoyele, expressed appreciation to the President for sending a delegation to condole with the family on the death of Mrs. Ndanusa Isaiah.
The Minister and his delegation were received on the condolence visit by the Chairperson of the Leadership Group, Mrs. Zainab Sam Nda-Isaiah.
