The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) has officially invited Professor Umaru Pate, Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere, to join its prestigious Board of Trustees.
The invitation, extended by Executive Director Motunrayo Alaka, comes in recognition of Professor Pate’s remarkable contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s media, civic space, and his longstanding support of investigative journalism.
In the letter, the WSCIJ highlighted Professor Pate’s influential role as a leading academic, development expert, and human rights advocate. His extensive experience in both national and international spheres, along with his early support for the WSCIJ’s mission, played a key role in the Search Committee’s decision to extend the invitation.
As a member of the Board of Trustees, Professor Pate will be entrusted with shaping the strategic direction of the organization.
