Protest: Police Deploys Personnel to Bauchi Conflict-Prone Areas

Ahead of the expected nationwide protests, Commissioner of Police Bauchi Command, Auwal Mohammed has deployed personnel to possible clash points to avert a breakdown of law and order.

WikkiTimes reports that, earlier, the command had asked organisers of the protest to supply their biodata to the police including meeting points and movement routes.

The commissioner disclosed this in a statement signed by the Spokesperson of the Command, SP Ahmed Wakil and made available to reporters in Bauchi on Tuesday.

“The Command, in collaboration with other sister security agencies, has put in place extensive security measures to safeguard lives and property.

“This includes the deployment of tactical teams, uniformed and plainclothes personnel, and intelligence assets to protect areas that may be vulnerable to potential disruptions,” he said.
