Protest: Police Issues Safety Guidelines in Gombe 

The Gombe state Police command has laid guidelines to be observed to ensure safety and stability ahead of August 1 nationwide protest. 

Speaking to newsmen at the state Police headquarters on Tuesday, Police Commissioner Hayatu Usman called on protest organizers and leaders to capture vital information of all protesters including names, contact details, assembly point as well as proposed protest routes. 

CP Usman warned against violence and mischief and encouraged a peaceful assembly during the protest.

His words: “By adhering to these measures, the Command will be able to deploy adequate personnel, ensure maximum protection, establish clear communication channels, minimize the risk of violence, and prevent property damage.”

He noted that the command will work closely with other security agencies to deter mischief makers from taking advantage of the protest to cause mayhem.

While encouraging cooperation with the law enforcement to retain stability in the state, he urged the state citizens to be wary of groups before partaking in the protest.
