Protesters Must Be Properly Identified – Gombe Governor

Ahead of the planned nationwide protest against economic hardship, Gombe state Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has said individuals seeking to participate must identify themselves properly and obtain permission from the Police.

The governor, according to a statement by the director general public affairs, Ismaila Uba Missing, made the remark when he hosted a security meeting with stakeholders ahead of proposed nationwide security. 

WikkiTimes learned that had in attendance security agencies, religious leaders, traditional rulers as well as local government chairmen. 

The statement added that the Governor noted the safety of the citizens is a topmost priority, urging the stakeholders to work closely to achieve stability in the state.

“Participants took turns to share their perspectives and suggestions on how best to navigate these challenging times and forge a path toward a more secure and prosperous Gombe State.

“The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor,  Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, Commissioner of Police,  State Director of Security,  Commander 301 Artillery Regiment, Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, heads of paramilitary organizations; Emirs and Chiefs, Local Government Council Chairmen,  religious leaders and relevant government officials,” it added.
