Protesters have stormed the residence of former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, Thursday afternoon as part of the nationwide protest against hardship in the country.
In a video clip that went viral on social media, protesters were heard narrating the harsh economic condition and hunger in the country.
“We are not interested, what we want is Justice. May Allah bring us relief and a way out for our country,” the protesters were heard in the video as saying.
A protester, who obviously recorded the video, said “People from Daura are gathered in front of Buhari’s house blocking the road from Mai Adua to Daura and other places. Daura is also facing the current hardship. May Allah relieve us from the current hardship we are in.”
The protest turned violent in some states, leading to deaths and prompting at least three governors to declare curfews.
The angry protesters were lamenting the country’s economic situation and setting up bonfires and chanting at residence of the former president.
