PRP Knocks Bauchi Governor for Purchasing SUVs for Emirs Amid Hunger, Poverty

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) Bauchi State Chapter has knocked Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of the state over what it describes as a “shocking display of extravagance” amid poverty and hunger through the purchase of exotic SUVs for the emirs.

WikkiTimes reports that Gov. Mohammed has distributed multimillion-naira exotic SUVs for the six first-class Emirs in the state, a move that the PRP condemns as a gross misuse of public funds.

In a statement signed by the PRP State Secretary, Hon. Abdulazeez Haruna, the party criticized the governor’s actions due to the growing economic hardship and hunger faced by the majority of Bauchi State residents.

“This is an egregious display of callousness and disregard for the welfare of the people who elected him into office,” the statement reads.

“At a time when many residents are struggling to put food on their tables, the governor has chosen to prioritize luxury and indulgence for the privileged few.”

The PRP further questioned the governor’s decision to prioritize such spending over addressing the critical needs of the state, including food security, healthcare, education, and job creation.

The party demanded transparency in the procurement process and called for a full accounting of how these SUVs were purchased and at what cost.

“We call on Governor Bala Mohammed to redirect his attention to addressing the pressing needs of our people,” the PRP urged. “The people of Bauchi State deserve better than to be governed by someone who prioritizes the pampering of a few at the expense of the many.”

The PRP vowed to continue holding the governor and other leaders accountable for their actions, asserting that the party would not rest until the people of Bauchi State receive the fair and just treatment they deserve.
