Kuwait’s Ministry of Islamic and Religious Affairs has prohibited imams from reading Qur’an from their mobile phones during the night prayers of the month of Ramadan.
According to BBC Hausa, Al-Rai newspaper reported that the information is contained in a statement signed by a junior minister in charge of mosques, Salah Al Shilahi.
The announcement encouraged the imams to use their memorization of the Qur’an during Tarawih and Tahajjud prayers, as they (the imams) are an example to the rest of the community.
She added that every imam should study properly before the prayer instead of reading from the phone.
