Ramadan: Jigawa Govt Distributes Assorted Grains, Sugar To 20 PWD Leaders

The Jigawa Government  on Wednesday distributed assorted grains and sugar to 20 leaders of Persons with Disability (PWD) in the state, to support them during the Ramadan period.

Mr Usman Muhammad, the state’s Chairman, Joint Network of Persons with Disability (JONPWD), confirmed this to the News Agency of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse.

Muhammad said four PWD leaders from each of five Emirate Councils, including the leader of the blind, the leader of the physically challenged, the leader of lepers and the leader of the deaf, benefited from the gesture.

The chairman said each of the beneficiaries received a bag each of rice, maize, millet and sugar.

According to him, the gesture was meant to enable the beneficiaries feed their immediate families, relatives and friends in their respective communities.

NAN recalls that the Jigawa government, since its inception in 2015, had been providing tons of assorted grains to the needy and vulnerable across the state. (NAN)
