The Newly elected officials of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Chapter have been requested by the Rector to support the Management of the Institution for the improvement of teaching and learning.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Architect Sunusi Waziri Gumau made the request at the official inauguration of the officials held at the ASUP Secretariat.
Sunusi Waziri Gumau said ensuring mutual understanding among the two bodies would ensure effective service delivery especially academic excellence.
The Rector who congratulated the new executives for their reelection, charged them to justify the confidence reposed on them.
In a key note address, the National President, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Comrade Yusuf Usman Dutse reemphasized the need for the state chapter to strengthen its relationship with the management of the Polytechnic for the advancement of the system.
Comrade Usman Dutse appealed to them to remain focused, committed and use their experience for the well-being of the members.
The Zonal Coordinator ASUP Zone B, Comrade Abdullahi Yalwa also enjoined the new executives to consider constructive criticism for the unity of the union.
The Chairman of the Chapter, Comrade Musa Mukaddas while receiving the mantle of leadership, promised to work hand in hand with all the members and to discharge their responsibilities without fear or favour.
