The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies distributed incentives to people with disabilities (PWDs) to provide support to these individuals due to their unique challenges.
Some of the items distributed include detergents, Dettol, pants, washable pads, and bathing soap, among others, to ease the harsh economic reality for the beneficiaries.
Fatima Nasir, Director of Protection, Gender, and Inclusion at the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) Abuja, encouraged the beneficiaries, emphasizing that they are unique and valued members of society.
She also urged them to join the Red Cross, promoting inclusivity and empowerment.
Lilian Adeoagba, Accountability Officer, highlighted the Red Cross’s commitment to working with women, particularly in this intervention.
Speaking at the event, the Plateau State Branch Secretary, Nurudden Hussaini Magaji, who facilitated the distribution, said the Red Cross’s efforts demonstrate its dedication to supporting vulnerable populations and promoting their well-being.
The Red Cross’s initiative to support people with disabilities in the State is a testament to its commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and promoting the well-being of vulnerable populations.
