Repairs of electricity commences in Ningi, Warji and Ganjuwa months after blackout

Following intervention by the Speaker of the Bauchi state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman, restoration of collapsed electricity lines in Ningi, Warji and Ganjuwa local governments areas of the state has commenced.

A press statement signed by Abdul Burra, the spokesperson of the speaker on Saturday said the development came due to pressure, discussions and facilitation by his Principal.

He said that the Bauchi State Ministry of Power and Technology has commenced massive repairs of Ningi, Warji and Ganjuwa electricity lines.

Burra said that the Ministry has mobilized its staff from various locations across the state to Ningi line to ensure speedy completion and immediate restoration of light in Ningi, Ganjuwa and Warji Local Governments.

The Speaker who visited the site to monitor the commencement of the repairs, expressed his satisfaction on the speed and commitment of the workers.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Musa Bako Ningi, the speaker stressed that the plight of the people of the affected area is his primary concern, hence the need for him to make relentless efforts for electricity to be restored in Ningi and environs.

The speaker while describing electricity as very significant to the lives of his constituents said after the current repairs, he will sit with all stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the frequent collapse of electricity during the rainy season.

He said, “the Engineer in charge of the repairs told the speaker that in a matter of days light will be restored to Ningi as they won’t leave site until the electricity is repaired and becomes functional”, the release said.
