RIFAN Expresses Satisfaction With Rice Farmers’ Performance In Gombe Community

Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) has lauded the performance of their members in Yamaltu/Deba local government area of Gombe state.

The Monitoring and Recovery Committee of the association was commended when it visited the Kurjale Cluster Downstream in the local government to evaluate the performance of rice farmers who benefitted from the agricultural loan scheme of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s ‘Anchor Borrowers’.

The loans were given to the farmers through the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) Special Project in recent times to boost their farming activities.

During the visit, the Monitoring and Recovery Committee leader Muhammad Aliyu Gwani and the consultant for the project Johnson O. Adebayo expressed satisfaction with the performance of the beneficiaries.

They said the farmers’ compliance level was impressive and commended them for their effort in repayment.

The team advised youths in the state to engage in farming activities saying they are essential for food security in society and for economic empowerment.

Responding, some beneficiaries commended the CBN governor Godwin Emefiele, RIFAN Special Project Coordinator Abubakar Muhammad S. Bello and RIFAN National President, Aminu Goronyo for extending the gesture to the area.
