Bauchi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Jalam and his driver have died in a ghastly accident along Misau-Darazo Road in Bauchi State.
Hon. Jalam and his driver were on transit on Saturday evening to Jalam, the Commissioner’s hometown in Dambam Local Government Area.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, said the death “leaves a profound emptiness and casts a pall of mourning over the state as he was known for his tireless work, dedication and commitment,” in a statement by his media aide, Lawal Muazu.

Hon. Jalam served as Commissioner for Religious Affairs in 2019 and reappointed as a commissioner in 2023 who served in the ministry for local government and chieftaincy affairs until his tragic.
The late commissioner died at the age of 60 years and had served at different political positions.
Hon. Jalam fondly called Maikankana served as a councilor in 1999, caretaker chairman in 2007 and executive chairman in 2008 and caretaker chairman in Dambam LGA.
Muazu said his funeral prayer will takes place Sunday morning in his hometown, Jalam, Dambam LGA.
