Road Accident Kills 2 in Bauchi

A Toyota Hiace bus coveying 14 male adults on Tuesday was involved in a lone accident in Bauchi State, leading to the death of two, according to Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state.

The accident, Punch reports, happened at Kahun village along Darazo – Dukku Road in the Darazo Local Government Area of the state at about 6.36 pm, the state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Yusuf Abdullahi, confirmed the accident to Punch.

Abdullahi said other passengers sustained injuries, adding the accident was caused by a tyre burst. He identified the only vehicle involved as a white commercial Toyota Hiace bus with the number plate ‘DKA 127 XT.’

He added that FRSC officials evacuated victims of the crash to Darazo General Hospital for treatment and confirmation where two of the victims were confirmed dead. He said their bodies were deposited at the hospital’s morgue before they would later be released to their relatives.
