Road accidents: FRSC, drivers’ unions to partner in Katsina

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will collaborate with drivers’ unions in Katsina to reduce accidents on the highways in the state.

The FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mr Ali Tanimu, made the disclosure in a statement issued by the Corps Public Education Officer, Mr Abubakar Usman.

Tanimu said that the initiative would go a long way in enlightening drivers in the state on international best driving practices.

He advised motorists in the state to always exercise caution while driving, especially during the raining season, to avoid accidents.

Tanimu also said that FRSC had organised a stakeholders’ meeting to standardise the national drivers’ licence

He added that the workshop was also meant to improve the revenue of Motor Licensing Authority in the state.

Tanimu listed the stakeholders to include: officials of the State Board of Internal Revenue, proprietors of driving schools and vehicle inspection officers, among others. (NAN)
