Sanitation: Ex-Speaker Dogara blasts MA Abubakar for abandoning sanitation in Bauchi state

The immediate past Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has accused the past administration of Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar for deliberately making the state dirty by neglecting environmental sanitation in Bauchi state.

Dogara who made the remarks on Saturday during a special sanitation exercise organised by the present administration of Bala Mohammed held across the state described MA Abubakar’s administration as total mess that has abandoned the plights of its people.

Addressing journalists shortly after monitoring the exercise, Governor Bala Mohammed directed for a comprehensive sanitation exercise across the twenty local government areas of the state, saying his administration would sensitize people of the state on the need to live up to their corporate social responsibilities.

He said the exercise was part of the present administration’s determination to ensure a hygienic and healthy environment, assuring that urban and rural plans would be considered as part of efforts to ensure clean environment in line with global best practices.

Governor Bala Mohammed who applauded corporate bodies for their support to the exercise, said the present administration would come up with administrative framework that will ensure the sustenance of exercise.

In his remarks, the newly elected Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Y. Suleiman pledged the support of the lawmakers to the governor’s initiative.

The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu had earlier pledged the support of traditional institutions for healthy and hygienic environment.
