Saraki Faults Closure Of Plateau Assembly

Former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki has faulted the closure of the Plateau State House of Assembly over leadership crisis,Dailytrust reports.

The closure followed the October 27 impeachment of Ayuba Abok as Speaker by eight lawmakers of the 24-member Assembly, who elected Yakubu Sanda as the new Speaker.

Both factions have continued to lay claims to the leadership.

Saraki, in a statement by his media aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu, described the closure of the Assembly as “mere escapism” and using a wrong response to correct a wrong development.
