The Bauchi State Ministry of Education has debunked a viral press release circulating on social media claiming that all schools in the state would reopen on Wednesday, November 26.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry described the announcement as fake and misleading, noting that it did not emanate from any authorised government source.
“The attention of the Bauchi State Ministry of Education has been drawn to a fake and purported press release circulating on social media, falsely claiming that all schools across the state are to reopen today,” the ministry said.
It urged the public to disregard the information entirely, insisting that all public, private, and tertiary institutions in the state remain closed.
“For the avoidance of doubt, all schools remain closed. They will only reopen when the safety and security of our students and staff are fully guaranteed,” the statement added.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of learners and maintaining transparent communication with the public.
The statement was signed by Jalaludeen Usman, the ministry’s Information and Public Relations Officer.
