http://KatsinaSecurity Operatives in Katsina State have thwarted bandits’ attack on farmers in Dan Ali village of Danmusa LGA.
The gunmen armed with dangerous weapons stormed the village around 2pm on Friday reportedly to kidnap farmers working on their farms.
However, a combined team of police, military and Katsina State Community Watch Corps repelled the attacks and forced the bandits to flee.
Confirming the incident to WikkiTimes, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Katsina State Police Command’s spokesman said contrary to some misconception, the bandits did not attack worshipers in the area but tried to abduct farmers before they were forced to retreat.
According to him, the gunmen have started shooting sporadically to attack farmers working in their farms, saying that security operatives were immediately dispatched to the village where they engage them in gun duel.
“The Katsina State Police Command is aware of misinformation making the rounds in some sections of the media that bandits attack disrupt Juma’at prayer in Dan Ali village of Danmusa LGA, Katsina State. This information is entirely false and misleading”.
“Contrary to the reports, the fact is that on October 4th, 2024, at about 1400hrs (2pm), some suspected armed bandits in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons such as AK 47 rifles, shooting sporadically attempted to attack farmers working on their farms but were swiftly repelled by a combined team of police operatives, the military, and members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC)”, he clarified.
