A former Senator of the 8th Assembly, Comrade Shehu Sani has called on the United States of America to place a visa ban on some Nigerians known for human rights violations in the country.
Sani who posted on his verified Twitter handle argued that the visa sanctions on some Nigerians will help tame terrorism in the country.
“Visa sanctions is the best step in tackling public officials involved in Human Rights abuses or Rigging elections. “It’s wrong for the US to deny Nigeria the sale of weapons crucial to the prosecution of the war against terrorism. “Terrorism anywhere is terrorism everywhere”, Mr Sani tweeted.
Recall that the United States of America has placed an arms embargo on Nigeria, accusing the country of not sharing intelligence on counter-terrorism with the US.
