President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Islamic leader Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi on his 100th birthday.
In a statement released by his spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu lauded Sheikh Bauchi as a beacon of light who has profoundly influenced Islamic scholarship and moral and ethical standards in contemporary Nigeria.
“The President expresses his gratitude to the Tijjaniyya leader for his lifelong dedication to disseminating knowledge and nurturing generations of Nigerians.
“On this significant milestone, President Tinubu prays for continued wisdom and robust health for the esteemed Sheikh,” NAN quoted Ngelale.

Sheikh Dahiru is a Nigerian Islamic Scholar and the supreme leader of the Islamic Sufi group known as the Tijaniyyah in Nigeria born in East Gombe in Gombe (formally Bauchi State).
As a youth Dahiru Bauchi studied the Holy Qur’an under the tutelage of his father Alhaji Usman and also under scholars like Shaikh Tijani Usman Zangon-Bare-bari, Shaikh Abubakar Atiku and Shaikh Abdulqadir Zaria. Dahiru Bauchi is deputy chair of the Fatwa Committee of the Supreme Council Of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) in Nigeria.
