Six persons have reportedly been killed in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The attack which was carried out by suspected bandits took place on Sunday at about 8 pm after the gunmen invaded Igba-Ukyor and Tse Baka communities
A resident of the community who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that the assistants invaded the community with motorcycles and killed six people.
“I have heard of the news and it is true that the gunmen invaded the communities and killed people. We don’t know what we have done to them,” he said.
It was gathered that five persons were killed at Igba-Ukyor while the other person was killed at Tse Baka.
The state publicity secretary for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) told Daily Trust about the attack.
Spokesperson for Benue Police Command (PPRO), Catherine Anene could not be reached for comments. A text sent to her had not been responded to as of press time.
