The accident involved a truck conveying rice and passengers from Yelwa to Kano, which overturned along Shendam Road, near the Langtang Saturday Market junction.

A local radio station, Ngapak FM, reported that five people were initially confirmed dead, while at least seven others sustained injuries and were taken to nearby health facilities for treatment. The death toll later rose to six.
The incident has renewed concerns over road safety in the area, particularly the dangers posed by heavy-duty trucks conveying both goods and passengers, as well as the need for greater caution by drivers navigating sharp bends along highways.
Efforts to obtain official statement from relevant authorities proved unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
