Sokoto Students Kill Colleague Over Missing Phone

Some students of Sultan Abdurrahman College of Health Technology, Gwadabawa in Sokoto State, allegedly killed one of their colleagues Lukman Malami, whom they accused of phone theft.

The 200-level dental student hailed from Wammako local council of the state. He was murdered by his co-classmates who were living in the same apartment with him outside the college premises.

This comes about six months after Deborah Samuel, a female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in‪ Sokoto was lynched for alleged blasphemy.

It was also gathered that the students converged in an apartment to celebrate their final examination where the phone got missing. They insisted tate the late student took the phone as he was the first to move out of the apartment.

In their bid to force him to confess, they tied him up and tortured him till he fainted. He would later be rushed to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital where he was confirmed dead, WikkiTimes learnt.

The management of the hospital directed the security personnel in the hospital not to allow the students that brought him to escape and informed the police who arrested them for investigation.

In a telephone conversation with WikkiTimes, Sunusi Abubakar, spokesperson for Sokoto Police Command said: ”We’ve confirmed the incident, five suspects were arrested so far, and the investigation is in process.”
