Aminu Iya Abbas, the Speaker of Adamawa State House of Assembly has won the 2023 PDP Adamawa Central Senatorial ticket.
The speaker defeated a former House of Representative member representing Yola North Constituency Hon Auwal Tukur.
He scored a total of 125 votes to clinch the ticket at the expense of Auwal Tukur who scored 54 votes and Barr DD Azura with one vote and Daniel Bwala with 4 votes.
The other aspirants are Chubado Murtala Moddibo, Abubakar Ibrahim Gwal and Mustapha Ibrahim Baba who went home with 13, 3 and 32 votes respectively.
While the serving Senator representing Adamawa South Senator Binos Yaro defeated his only opponent Prince Peter Fwa in a landslide victory with 235 votes to 55 votes.
Rev Amos Yohanna won PDP’s ticket for Adamawa North with 123 votes to defeat Zira Maigadi, Aji Wampana and Philip Alongo who scored 28, 18 and 2 votes respectively.
